Arsenal are to offer Fellaini an improved contract after he rejected their proposal of £70,000 a week, according to Goal.com
The Gunners activated the Belgian’s £22m buy out clause 2 weeks ago, as they look set to spend big on the midfielder.
This could potentially be one of two £20m+ deals for the North London team this summer, as they also look like they’ll be acquiring the services of Argentine Gonzalo Higuain for around £22m.
Arsenal look intent to spend big this summer after criticism in recent years that they haven’t been investing in players of the standard to challenge for the Premier League.
David Moyes is yet to make a move for the Belgian and with Chelsea dropping interest in the 25 year old, this certainly puts Arsenal in pole position.
