The Saints have agreed a £12m fee for Celtic star Victor Wanyama.

The Kenyan midfielder is keen to leave Celtic after rejecting to sign a 4 year contract in October, but is yet to agree personal terms with the south coast side.

Wanyama has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, Cardiff and Manchester United.

After his impressive performances in the Champions League, Neil Lennon has previously put a price tag on the 21 year old at £25m.

However, it seems that both parties have agreed on a fee rumoured to be around the £12m mark.

Ashley Williams: rumoured to be heading to the Emirates (pic: premierleagueowl.com)

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has admitted that they have not received any contact from any club about a possible move away from the Liberty stadium for club captain Ashley Williams.

Arsenal had been linked with a move for the defender for around £10 million, a deal which would was likely to rival Everton’s. The Telegraph reports that Williams is ‘ready’ to let his club know he wants to leave Swansea and join Arsenal. They also claim that Arsenal are waiting to see if defender Laurent Koscielny stays at the London, as to whether they make a bid for Williams.

However, the Swansea chairman has denied speculation of Williams moving away from the club this summer. “ While there seems to be constant speculation about Ashley Williams, I can honestly say that I have not had one call from anybody about him” admitted Jenkins. Jenkins (whilst speaking to Sky Sports) also claimed “There have been all sorts of stories in the press about what is happening with Ash but I have never heard anything from anyone”.

Williams was pivotal in Swansea’s mid table league position last season as captain and has played over 200 games for the Welsh club since moving from Stockport County in 2008.

Brazilian midfielder, Paulinho, has said that Spurs have made  a bid for him.

The 24 year old told BBC Sport that he will make up his mind as to his future after the Confederations Cup.

He said: “There is an official offer from Tottenham to Corinthians.

“But, as I did when there was an Inter Milan offer, I’ll sit and decide with my family before I make any decision.”

If the Corinthians player is to go to Spurs, it is likely to be for around £17m, he noted: “I will only do it after the Confederations Cup because it’s hard to deal with all these things.”
